The Sustainable Events Conference (SECON) 2025, taking place on February 24 and 25, 2025, at Landgut Stober near Berlin, is dedicated to the concept of "Twin Transformation"—the integration of digitalization and sustainability within the events industry. The conference will focus on five key thematic areas:
Mobility:
This session addresses environmentally friendly travel for participants, speakers, and project teams. Strategies will be discussed to influence transportation choices in order to improve the CO₂ balance of events. Additionally, the role of digital tools in monitoring and analyzing mobility patterns will be highlighted.
Emission Measurement:
This session emphasizes the need for standardized methods to measure CO₂ emissions at events. Approaches to capturing and reducing emissions will be explored, paving the way for more sustainable events.
Food & Food Waste Guidance:
The impact of catering on the environmental footprint of events takes center stage here. Topics include sustainable sourcing, preparation, and strategies for avoiding and managing food waste.
Venue Energy:
The focus will be on how event venues can enhance energy efficiency and optimize energy consumption. This includes both structural improvements and the use of renewable energy sources.
Smart Production and Waste Management:
This session explores the link between smart production and effective waste management. The entire lifecycle of a product—from manufacturing to disposal—will be analyzed to promote sustainable practices at every stage.
SECON 2025 serves as a platform for exchanging ideas on current challenges and solutions in the realm of sustainable business events. Participants will have the opportunity to actively engage in interactive sessions and discussions, fostering the development of forward-thinking approaches.
